The Hon. Dawna Reeves is a judge for the Stanislaus County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008. At the time of her appointment, Reeves held the distinction of being the first African American to serve on the bench in Stanislaus County.
She received her bachelor's degree from San Diego State University. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Reeves had worked as a deputy district attorney with the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office since 1997.
While on the bench, Judge Reeves served as a Presiding Judge of the Court.
She has been an executive committee member of the Trial Court Presiding Judges Advisory Committee and has also served on the board of trustees for the Stanislaus County Law Library.
