The Hon. David W. Stuart is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was elected to the bench in 2006, after an unsuccessful bid for a judicial position in 2000.
Judge Stuart graduated with honors with his B.S. from California State University, Northridge in 1989. He went on to earn his J.D. with honors from Loyola Law School in 1993. While in law school, Stuart was a member of the Order of the Coif honor society.
After graduating from law school, Stuart clerked for the Hon. Manuel L. Real, former Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Then, in 1995, Stuart joined the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. As a deputy district attorney, Stuart prosecuted cases involving domestic violence, sex crimes, child abuse, murder, robbery, and gang violence. He also received special training as a part of the D.A.'s Victim Impact Program.
Judge Stuart also served as a judge pro tem for the Ventura County Superior Court.
An active member of his community and a native of Los Angeles, Judge Stuart has devoted his time to such charitable causes as the American Red Cross and Feed the Hungry.
