The Hon. David S. Brabham is a judge for the 188th District Court in Gregg County, Texas. Brabham was appointed to the bench by former Governor George Bush in 1997, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Larry Starr to the Texas Sixth District Court of Appeals. He retired in 2018.
Brabham earned a B.S. from the University of Houston in 1974. Then, in 1977, he completed a J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center.
After graduating from law school, Brabham began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Gregg County District Attorneys Office. Five years later, he entered into private practice, where he worked until his election as Gregg County District Attorney in 1986. He held that position until his appointment to the bench.
Brabham was born and raised in Longview, Texas.
He is registered as a Republican.
