Biography

The Hon. David R. Worley is a judge for the Ventura County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2008 by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Thomas Hutchins (Ret.).

Judge Worley received his bachelor's degree with honors from California State College at Bakersfield. He went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola Law School.

Worley began his legal career in the public sector, becoming a deputy district attorney for the Ventura County District Attorney's Office in 1981.

Then, in 1984, he would join the Oxnard law firm of Nordman, Cormany, Hair, and Compton as an associate. He practiced there for six years, where he would eventually be named a partner. In 1990, he partnered at Arnold, Back, Mayfield, Mathews, Wojkowski, and Zirbel until 2002 when he became a partner at Wojkowski and Worley LLP.

Worley was selected to serve as a court commissioner for the Ventura County Superior Court in 2007. He held that role, until his appointment to the bench a year later.

While on the bench, Judge Worley has presided over a criminal jury trials calendar.
