The Hon. David J. Danielsen (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He was initially appointed to the San Diego Municipal Court by former Governor George Deukmejian on January 1, 1991, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Melinda J. Lasater to the Superior Court.
Danielsen earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1973. He then received a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1977.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Danielsen worked as an associate for Holt, Rhoades, and Hollywood from 1977 to 1979. He then joined Ault, Deuprey, Jones, Danielsen, and Gorman as a named partner, a position he held until his appointment to the bench. During his thirteen-year tenure as a civil litigator, Danielsen specialized in professional malpractice cases.
Danielsen has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has also served as president of the California Judges Association.
