The Hon. Daryl L. Moore is a judge of the Three Hundred Thirty-Third District Court in Harris County, Texas. He lost the Democratic primary in March 2020, and will have to step down on December 31, 2020.
Moore got his B.A. from the University of Texas in 1985 and his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law in 1989. In 2008, he got an M.L.A. from Houston Baptist University.
Moore was a private practice attorney based in Houston for 25 years. He handled cases at the Texas Supreme Court and in the United States Supreme Court. Moore has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center, the South Texas College of Law, and the University of Texas Law School.
He was the highest-rated judge of the 84 elected trial-court judges in Harris County in 2019; in 2018 he was voted "Trial Judge of the Year" by the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists; and 2018 he received the "President's Award for Outstanding Service to the Houston Bar Association" for his work for Harris County Law Library's Pro Se Litigant's Handbook/Manual para Litigantes Pro Se.
Moore is a Democrat.
