Judge Danielle M. Peterson - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Danielle M. Peterson is a judge for the Nassau County Family Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the bench in 2015.

Peterson earned a B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1997. She then completed a J.D. at Hofstra University, Maurice A. Deane School of Law in 2000.

After graduating from law school, Peterson began her legal career as an attorney in private practice in 2001. Then, in 2010, she became a principal law clerk to the Hon. Anthony L. Parga of the Nassau County Supreme Court. She held this position until her election to the bench.

Her memberships have included the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Armenian Bar Association.

Peterson is the daughter of Gregory Peterson, a former Supervisor of Hempstead, New York.

She is registered as a Republican.
