Judge Daniel W. Detienne - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Daniel W. Detienne is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Michael A. Smith.

Detienne earned a B.A. from California State University, Fullerton. He then completed a J.D. from Western State University College of Law.

He began his legal career as a deputy district attorney for the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County in 1997. Then, in 2005, he transferred to the Office of the District Attorney of Riverside County, where he served as a deputy district attorney for two years. He then returned to the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County, where he remained until his appointment.

Detienne is registered as a Republican.
