The Hon. Daniel J. Brabender is a judge for the Erie County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 3, 2009.
Brabender has held assignments in the Family Division (2010 to 2016) and the Trial Division (2016 to present).
Prior to his election, Brabender was a partner at Carney, Good, Brabender & Walsh, a firm at which he worked since 1978. He represented clients in real estate, wills and estates, bankruptcy, personal injury, domestic, and criminal matters.
Brabender earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Dayton School of Law.
His memberships have included the Erie County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He also sits on the Erie Sports Commission. Brabender served as president of the Sierra Club of Erie and the Cathedral Prep Alumni Association, and he was a past member of the Cathedral Prep Advisory Board.
Born and raised in Erie, Brabender attended Cathedral Preparatory School. He attends St. George Roman Catholic Church with his wife and two children.
