The Hon. Dale J. Blea is a judge for the Superior Court of Madera County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Jennifer R.S. Detjen to the California Fifth District Court of Appeal.
Blea earned a B.S. in law from Western State University. He then continued his studies at Western State University College of Law, where he completed a J.D.
He began his legal career as an associate at Linn, Lindley and Blate in 1993. Three years later, he left the firm and joined the Office of the District Attorney of Madera County as a deputy district attorney. However, his time there would be brief. He soon left to start his own private practice as a sole practitioner in 1997.
Then, in 1998, he became an associate at Jamison, Chappel and Blea, a firm for which he would eventually become a named partner. He practiced there for seven years before becoming a partner at Mount and Blea. Finally, just prior to his appointment to the bench, he joined Arnold and Blea as a partner in 2009.
Blea is registered as a Republican.
