The Hon. Dale C. Cohen is a judge for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court in Broward County, Florida. He was appointed to the Circuit Court by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2006 and re-elected in 2008 and 2014. At the time of his appointment, he filled the vacancy created by the Hon. George Brescher.
Judge Cohen graduated with his B.S. in finance from the University of Florida in 1983. He went on to earn a J.D. from the
University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 1986.
After graduating from law school, Cohen began his legal career as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney.
Upon his departure from the State Attorneys Office, Cohen entered into solo practice at his own law firm in 1990. He remained in that capacity until his appointment to the bench in 2006.
While on the Circuit Court, Judge Cohen has presided in the Unified Family Court Division.
In 2012, he was publicly reprimanded by the Florida Supreme Court for violating the Code of Judicial Conduct.
His wife, the Hon. Mardi Levey Cohen, is a judge for the Broward County Court.
