Biography

The Hon. D. Scott Daniels is a judge for the Solano County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. James Moelk (Ret.).


He is a registered Republican.


Judge Daniels received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1974. He went on to earn his J.D. from Whittier Law School in 1978.


Prior to his appointment to the bench, Daniels had served as a court commissioner for the Solano County Superior Court since 2003.


Before that, Daniels was a sole practitioner for twenty-four years, where he specialized in property, land use, municipal corporation, probate, and insurance law. During that time he also served on the Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators as well as a judge pro tem for the Solano County Superior Court.


Daniels also worked as a city attorney for both the Suisun City (1982 to 1984) and Benicia City (1984 to 1986) Attorney's Offices.


While on the bench, Judge Daniels has been assigned to the Civil Division at the Old Solano Courthouse.
