Biography

The Hon. Cynthia L. Ulfig is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She succeeded the Hon. Keith Byram upon her appointment to the bench by former Governor Pete Wilson in June 1998.

Judge Ulfig attended California State University where she received her B.A. in 1978. She went on to earn her J.D. in 1981 from Southwestern University.

Ulfig was with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office for most of her practice. She started out as a trial attorney, but by the time she was appointed to the Superior Court, she was serving as deputy district attorney.

In one of Ulfig's more high-profile cases while on the bench, she sentenced former New York Mets outfielder Lenny Dykstra to 3 years in prison for grand theft auto in 2017.
