Biography

The Hon. Curtis B. Rappé is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 1987 by former Governor George Deukmejian. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Charles H. Older (Ret.).

Judge Rappé received his B.A. from Stanford University. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

Rappé began his legal career in 1966 as a deputy district attorney for the Ventura County District Attorney's Office. Then, in 1972, he became an assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California. During his time as a federal prosecutor, Rappé prosecuted major fraud cases. He remained with the USAO until his appointment to the Superior Court in 1987.
