Hon. Craig A. Ambrose is a judge for the Vicinage 3 Superior Court in Burlington County in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Phil Murphy in 2020.
Ambrose has held an assignment in the Family Division in Burlington County.
At the time of his appointment, he was associate counsel in the Authorities Unit of the Office of the Governor, holding the position since 2017.
Ambrose also worked for five years as a deputy attorney general with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General (2015 to 2020).
Before entering the public sector, he was the assistant vice president and senior associate counsel at Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc. At the commercial real estate development/management firm, Ambrose handled corporate transactions including all facets of commercial leasing and litigation. He joined the New Jersey firm in 1993 and practiced there for twenty years.
Ambrose also spent time handling real estate and litigation matters as a contract attorney and independent legal consultant (2014 to 2015).
He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Saint Peter’s College in 1986. Ambrose went on to complete a J.D. at Rutgers Law School (1993) and an M.B.A. in management information systems from Saint Peter’s University (1996).
He was admitted to practice in New Jersey (1993), Pennsylvania (1994), the District of Columbia (1995), New York (1999), Illinois (2013), and Maryland (2013).
In addition, Ambrose received a Network+ and A+ Computer Certification from Comp TIA (2000) and paralegal certification from the National Academy for Paralegal Studies, Inc (1989).
His memberships have included GPSEG, the American Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Ambrose also spent time as a volunteer for Puzzles for Cures, LLC, an organization that raises money for special needs children.
At the time of his appointment, he resided in Moorestown.
