The Hon. Cindy D. Davis is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown on December 27, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Steven R. Denton.
Davis earned a B.A. from San Diego State University. She then received a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1993.
Davis began her legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. William B. Enright of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California in 1993. The following year, she joined Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps as a senior litigation associate.
She held that position for five years, eventually leaving the private sector to become a deputy city attorney for the Office of the City Attorney of San Diego.
Then, in 2006, she was appointed court commissioner for the Superior Court of San Diego County. She held this position until her appointment to the bench in 2013.
She is registered as a Democrat.
