The Hon. Christopher Hite is a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He was appointed by former Governor Jerry Brown on December 23, 2015, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. James J. McBride.
Hite attended Santa Clara University, where he earned a B.S. in 1991 and a J.D. in 1994. Hite also received a master’s degree from Golden Gate University.
Hite spent the first two years of his legal career as a sole practitioner in the Law Offices of Christopher C. Hite. He also worked as a legal consultant for the San Francisco branch of the NAACP.
Then, in 1998, Hite joined the Office of the Public Defender of San Francisco County. During his tenure there, he chaired the Racial Justice Committee, which collaborated with the University of Pennsylvania in order to increase police transparency and safeguard against racial bias.
Hite is registered as a Democrat.
