The Hon. Christina A. Snyder is a District Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton in January 1997 and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in November 1997. She filled the seat vacated by the Hon. Edward Rafeedie (deceased). Judge Snyder assumed senior status in November 2016.
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Snyder received her B.A. from Pomona College in 1969. She went on to earn her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1972.
Prior to her confirmation to the District Court, Snyder spent her entire legal career in private practice. She practiced as a partner at the law firms Wyman, Bautzer, Kuchel, and Silbert, Katten, Muchin, and Zavis, and with Corinblit and Seltzer.
Her memberships included the Beverly Hills Bar Association and past president of the nonprofit Public Counsel.
She received the Ronald M. George Award for Judicial Excellence from the Beverly Hills Bar Association in 2013.
Judge Snyder was born in Los Angeles, California.
