The Hon. Carolyn M. Caietti is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David Ryan.
Caietti earned a B.B.A. in business economics from the University of San Diego in 1983. She then continued her studies at the University of San Diego School of Law, where she received a J.D. in 1986.
She began her legal career at Shifflet, Walters, Kane & Konoske in 1986. She first worked as an associate, litigating the defense of personal injury claims. During her tenure there, she continued her tort litigation practice, which she expanded to include employment law. She eventually became a shareholder of the firm in 2002, a position she held until her appointment to the bench.
Caietti was named Outstanding Jurist of the Year by the San Diego County Bar Association. She has also been named the Wilmont Sweeney Juvenile Court Judge of the Year.
Her memberships have included the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Judges Association, the California Judges Association, the San Diego County Judges Association, and the Juvenile Court Judges of California Association.
