The Hon. Carol Williams Elswick is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the Municipal Court in 1997 by former Governor Pete Wilson. She was subsequently elevated to the Superior Court after the unification of the courts in 2000.

Judge Elswick graduated with her B.S. in political science from the University of Southern California in 1979. She earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1983.

After graduating from law school, Elswick joined the law firm of Ochoa and Sillas, where she practiced from 1983 to 1986.

She became a deputy city attorney for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office in 1986. She remained with the City Attorney's Office until being appointed to the Santa Anita Municipal Court as a court commissioner in 1991.

She remained in that capacity until her appointment to the Municipal Court in 1997.

In 2018, Judge Elswick was disciplined by the Commission on Judicial Performance for her decision to hold three different defendants in custody, which at the time, went against the Los Angeles Sheriff's Departments' early release program. She was also found on separate occasions to have violated the Code of Judicial Ethics regarding her treatment of several criminal defendants.
