The Hon. Carly B. Dolan is a judge for the Superior Court of Mendocino County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown on November 2, 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard J. Henderson.
Dolan earned a B.A. in English (with a minor in Spanish) from the University of Oregon. She then completed a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
She began her legal career with an internship at the Office of the Public Defender of San Francisco County. Then, in 2001, she accepted a position with the Office of the Public Defender in Mendocino County. During her tenure there, she rose through the ranks, eventually becoming an assistant public defender in 2013.
Dolan was born and raised in Sweet Home, a small logging town in Oregon. She was a resident of Ukiah at the time of her appointment.
When she is not presiding over cases, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and camping.
Dolan is registered as a Democrat.
