Hon. Carlton D. Jones is a judge for the 8th South Judicial Circuit Court of Arkansas. He was elected to the bench in 2014.
The 8th South Judicial Circuit includes Lafayette and Miller Counties.
Prior to his election, Jones spent four years as the Prosecuting Attorney for the 8th Judicial District. He first joined the office as a deputy prosecuting attorney in 1989. Jones began his legal career as an attorney with East Arkansas Legal Services in Helena.
He was admitted to practice in Arkansas in 1988.
Jones has served on the Board of Directors of Faith, Love, and Hope (chairperson), the Department of Human Services State Instructional Systems (secretary), the Christus St. Michael Hospital, and the Texarkana Volunteer Center. Jones was also a trustee of Lonoke Baptist Church.
He was named Distinguished Alumni by the Texarkana Arkansas School District (2014 to 2015).
Jones is the tenth of eleven children in his family. He attended Arkansas High School.
