The Hon. Bruce F. Marrs is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor George Deukmejian on January 3, 1991.
Judge Marrs is a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He held the ranks of Second Lieutenant as well as Captain in the Marine Corps. He served in the war from 1965-1973.
Marrs received his bachelor's degree from Pacific University in Montana. He went on to earn his J.D. from the California Western School of Law in 1976.
After graduating from law school, Marrs joined the San Diego City Attorney's Office as a deputy city attorney in 1976. He practiced with the city attorney's office for one year before joining the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office in 1977 as a deputy district attorney. He was with the D.A.'s office for 9 years prior to his appointment to the Superior Court.
