The Honorable Brian C. Walsh

Biography

The Hon. Brian C. Walsh is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Gray Davis on December 15, 2000.

Walsh earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1969. He then received a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1972.

He began his legal career as the co-director of the Legal Aid Society of Monterey County in 1972. Two years later, he joined McTernan, Stender, Walsh, Weingus & Tondreau as an associate, where he specialized in business law. He would eventually rise to managing partner by the time of his appointment to the bench.

Walsh has been appointed Pro Tem Justice for the California Sixth District Court of Appeal.

His memberships have included the Santa Clara Bar Association, Loaves and Fishes Family Kitchen, and the Alexian Brothers Foundation.

He was born and raised in San Jose, California.

Walsh is registered as a Democrat.
