The Hon. Brian Austin is a judge for the Superior Court of Madera County in California. He was elected to the bench in 2018, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Charles Wieland.
He earned a J.D. from San Joaquin College of Law in 1994.
He began his legal career as a sole practitioner in his own private practice. During this time, he also spent a year working as assistant general counsel at Table Mountain Casino.
Austin was raised in Madera, California. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After the completion of his military service, he became a police officer with the Madera Police Department. Austin continued his career in law enforcement, eventually becoming a deputy sheriff in San Diego County before enrolling in San Joaquin College of Law.
