Hon. Brandon P. Neuman is a judge for the Washington County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 7, 2017.
During his judicial tenure, Neuman has presided over Family Court, including divorce, custody, and support matters.
He received a B.A. in criminal justice from the University of Richmond (2005) and an M.A. in law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (2006). Neuman went on to complete a J.D. at the Duquesne University School of Law in 2009.
He was a former intern for the Pennsylvania State Representative Timothy J. Solobay, the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel (assigned to Pennsylvania State Police), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Over the course of his legal career, Neuman worked in both the private and political sectors. He was an attorney at Robert Peirce & Associates and was elected on the Democratic ticket to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (48th District) in 2010. He was subsequently elected to three more terms. During his tenure as a representative, Neuman sat on the Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Consumer Affairs, Judiciary, Labor and Industry, and Rules Committees. He resigned from his political post upon assuming the Court of Common Pleas bench.
He sat for two years as an appointed member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing beginning in 2015. His other memberships included the Alumni Association of Duquesne Law School (Board of Governors), ARC of Washington County (Board of Directors), and the EQT Three Rivers Regatta (board member).
In 2014, Neuman was a Democratic candidate for the seat of Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania but finished fifth in the primary.
He graduated from Canon-McMillan High School. Neuman and his wife, Carrie, resided in North Strabane Township at the time of his election.
Neuman is registered as a Democrat.
