The Hon. Blaine K. Bowman is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 21, 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Edward Huntington.
Bowman earned a B.S. in business finance and psychology from San Diego State University in 1986. He then received a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1989.
He began his legal career as a civil litigation attorney with Lindley, Lazar & Scales in 1990.
Later that year, he left the firm and joined the Office of the District Attorney of San Diego County as a deputy district attorney. Just prior to his appointment to the bench, he was assigned to its Gang Prosecution Unit.
While working in the Office of the District Attorney, Bowman taught at the San Diego Regional Police Academy and the National College of District Attorneys. He has also worked as a lecturer at San Diego State University, where he has taught criminal law.
Bowman is registered as a Republican.
