Hon. Beverly D. Armstrong is a judge for the 208th District Court of Texas in Harris County. She was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.
Armstrong presides over the Criminal Court in Harris County.
Prior to her election, she spent over fifteen years working as a prosecutor. During that time, Armstrong served as an assistant district attorney (2006 to 2014) and a first assistant district attorney (2018 to 2022) in Polk County and an assistant district attorney (2014 to 2018) in Galveston County. During that time, her caseload included murder, aggravated assault, robbery, child sexual assault, and other felonies.
She received a B.S. in civil engineering from Prairie View A&M University in 1990. Armstrong went on to complete a J.D. at South Texas College of Law Houston in 1996.
Her memberships include the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association; the National Black Prosecutors Association; and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Armstrong also served on the Multi-disciplinary Team and the Children Advocacy Center Board of Directors and was a collaborator with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. In addition, she taught as an adjunct professor at the Southwest Professional Institute.
Armstrong is a native of Beaumont, Texas, and has resided in Houston since 1990. The married mother of two has served as a communion steward and a member of the Finance Committee at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is registered as a Democrat.
