The Hon. Beau A. Miller is a judge of the One Hundred Ninety District Court in Harris County, Texas. He began his judgeship on January 1, 2019 and the term ends in 2022.
He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and then for three years was the Associate Director of Bands at Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin, Texas. Miller received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and served as the Class President of the Class of 2001. From 2001 through 2003, Miller was a law clerk to The Honorable Ricardo H. Hinojosa, United States District Court, Southern District of Texas.
He was in private practice before his judgeship, representing clients in commercial, products liability, and section 1983 litigation.
Miller serves on the State Bar of Texas Minority Counsel Program Steering Committee and the LSU College of Music and Dramatic Arts Deans Taskforce. He founded LIVE Consortium, a non-profit dedicated to educating Houston residents about, and working to overcome, the stigmas associated with HIV-AIDS. He was diagnosed with HIV in 2006.
He grew up as a "military brat. Miller is married to the artistic and music director of Houston Grand Opera. They live in Houston.
Miller is a Democrat.
