The Hon. Bambi J. Moyer is a judge for the Riverside County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown in 2015. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Elisabeth Sichel (Ret.).
Moyer is a registered Republican.
Judge Moyer graduated with her B.S. in biochemistry from Union College in Schenectady, New York. She went on to earn her J.D. from Albany Law School.
She began her legal career as a patent attorney at Heslin and Rothenberg PC in Albany, New York. Realizing that patent work was not stimulating enough for her, Moyer interviewed with a civil litigation firm in Riverside, California. After being hired for the position, Moyer moved to the West Coast in 1987 to join the Law Offices of Blumenthal and Milliken, where she would practice as an associate for one year.
Moyer then joined the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, where she would serve as a deputy district attorney. During her tenure there, Moyer's assignments ranged from preliminary hearings to gang-related crimes. She would remain with the D.A.'s office until being named a court commissioner in 1996. Moyer would hold that position for nineteen years. During that time, Moyer presided over cases ranging from criminal arraignments to small claims.
While on the bench, Judge Moyer has presided over a criminal trials calendar.
Moyer, who was born in Bethpage, New York, was a thespian in high school and college. She was named after her mothers best friend.
