Biography

The Hon. Arthur B. Benner, II is a commissioner for the San Bernardino County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench on June 8, 2020.


Prior to his appointment, Benner was a founding member of the Law Office of Arthur B. Benner and a staff attorney for Inland Defenders, Inc. (2009 to 2020). Before that, he served as a deputy public defender for the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office and an associate at Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman.


Benner earned a B.S. in psychology from Lambuth College in 1995. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1999. While in law school, Benner was a founding member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society and served as Vice President of the Black Law Students Association.


His memberships have included the American Bar Association and the San Bernardino County Bar Association.


Benner was born in St. Paul, Minnesota.
