The Hon. Anthony S. Beltrami is a judge for the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2005.
Beltrami has held assignments over civil and criminal trials as well as juvenile delinquency and dependency matters.
Prior to his election, Beltrami worked as an attorney in private practice (1999 to 2005). Before that, he was an assistant public defender for the Northampton County Public Defender’s Office (1994 to 1996) and an assistant district attorney for the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office (1996 to 1999).
Beltrami earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1985. He then completed a J.D. at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1989. As a law student, Beltrami sat as an associate editor of the Touro Law Review. He also earned American Jurisprudence Awards for the highest grade in Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility (Ethics), and Comparative Law.
After graduating from law school, Beltrami began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. Robert A. Freedberg of the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas. He then opened his own private practice in Bethlehem, where he specialized in civil litigation.
His memberships have included the Northampton County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Northampton County Criminal Justice Advisory Board. He also sat on the Board of Sayre Child Center and Lehigh Valley Legal Services.
Raised in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Beltrami attended Bishop Hafey High School. When not presiding over legal matters, Beltrami serves as a Northeast Little League Coach and a coach for the Easton High School Mock Trial Team. He attends the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem and enjoys racing horses.
