Biography

The Hon. Ann Q. Ameral is a judge for the Stanislaus County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David G. Vander Wall (Ret.).

She is a registered Democrat.

Judge Ameral received her B.A. from California State University, Stanislaus. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Ameral had served as a court commissioner for the Superior Court in Stanislaus County since 2007. Before being selected to serve as a commissioner, Ameral had worked in private practice for over twenty years, where she specialized in family law.

At the time of her appointment to the bench, Judge Ameral held the distinction of being the first court commissioner to ever be elevated to a judicial position in Stanislaus County.
