The Hon. Ann H. Park is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She ran unopposed and was elected to the bench on June 3, 2014.
Born in South Korea, Park immigrated to the United States with her parents in 1980. She holds the distinction of being the first elected Korean woman judge.
Judge Park graduated in 1987 from the University of Californa, Berkeley with her bachelor's degree in psychology and women's studies. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1991.
After graduating law school, Park joined the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office as a Deputy District Attorney. During her time at the D.A.’s office, Judge Park specialized in sexual assault and domestic violence cases and was involved with the Victim Impact Program. She prosecuted cases at the state and federal level. She remained at the D.A.’s Office for 20 years, until she was elected to the bench in 2014.
Judge Park, a Sunday school teacher, has devoted her time to doing volunteer community service, as well as volunteering with the East Bay Korean Community Center, and other non-profit organizations.
Some of her memberships have included the Korean Prosecutors Association and the Korean Women International Network.
