The Hon. Angela M. Bradstreet is a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. She was appointed by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 28, 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David Ballati.
Bradstreet earned an LL.B. from the University of Bristol in 1976. She then received an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1980.
Bradstreet began her legal career as a legal research attorney and a judicial clerk for the Superior Court of San Mateo County. Then, in 1981, she joined Carroll, Burdick and McDonough, a law firm that specializes in business litigation matters. She practiced at the firm until 2007, first as an associate, then as a partner.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Bradstreet served as a state labor commissioner for the California Department of Labor.
Bradstreet has served as past-president of the Bar Association of San Francisco (2001) as well as the California Women Lawyers Association (1992).
She was a recipient of the Amel Zenoune-Zouani Rights and Leadership Award in 2018. She also received the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award in 2007 and the Diversity Award from the State Bar of California in 2003.
Bradstreet was the third openly gay or lesbian individual to be appointed to the bench in the Bay Area.
Bradstreet was born in London, England. She is a cyclist and enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her wife.
She is registered as a Democrat.
