The Hon. Andrew P. Banks (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed to the Municipal Court of Orange County by former Governor Pete Wilson in April 1997. He was elevated to the Superior Court of Orange County on August 10, 1998, upon the majority vote of judges in the county to convert Municipal Courts to Superior Courts. He retired in 2017.
Banks attended California State University, Fullerton, earning a B.A. in political science in 1972. He then received a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1979.
From 1985 to 1995, Banks worked as a partner at Stockdale & Peckham. He then joined Creason, Rosenthal & Aarving, where he worked as an associate until his appointment to the bench.
Banks served as the director of the Alliance of California Judges and has been named Judge of the Year by the Celtic Bar Association of Orange County.
He was a resident of Mission Viejo, California at the time of his appointment to the Municipal Court of Orange County.
