The Hon. Alan B. Honeycutt is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2006 by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Hugh Gardner (Ret.).
He is a registered Republican.
Judge Honeycutt received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to earn his J.D. from California Western School of Law.
Honeycutt joined the Redondo Beach City Attorney's Office in 1995 as a deputy city attorney. He served in that capacity until becoming an assistant city prosecutor in 2001 and then a city prosecutor in 2005. During his time as city prosecutor, Honeycutt supervised the office's criminal division.
Honeycutt became a reserve police officer for the Hermosa Police Department in 1999, he remained there until 2004 having reached the rank of Lieutenant.
Before joining the City Attorney's Office, Honeycutt worked as an associate for the law firm of Burke, Williams, and Sorenson.
He has also taught as an adjunct professor for Whittier Law School.
During his time on the bench, Judge Honeycutt has served as the assistant supervising judge for the South West District and has presided over the felony trial court.
