The Hon. Adam B. Ryan is a judge for the Superior Court of Shasta County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown on May 22, 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William D. Gallagher.
Ryan earned a B.S. from California State University, Chico. He then completed a J.D. from the Golden Gate University School of Law.
He began his legal career as an associate at McGlynn and McGlynn in 1997. The following year, he left the firm and started his own private practice. His time as a sole practitioner would be brief, as he soon accepted a position as an associate at Moss and Enochian in 1999. He practiced there for the next three years, eventually leaving to join Sinclair and Hill as an associate.
Ryan returned to his own private practice in 2002. He handled cases as a sole practitioner for ten years before joining Wright, Ryan, and Anderson as a named partner in 2012. Then, in 2013, he returned once again to his private practice, a position he held until his appointment to the bench.
He is registered as a Republican.
