Biography

The Hon. Martin D. Auffredou is a Justice of the Warren County Supreme Court in the Fourth Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the Supreme Court bench in 2016.

He is registered as a Republican.

Justice Auffredou received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. He went on to earn his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 1988.

After completing his law degree, Auffredou served as a confidential law clerk to the Hon. D. Brock Hornsby, an Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court in Portland, Maine from 1988 to 1989.

Upon completing his clerkship, Auffredou joined the law firm of Bartlett, Pontiff, Steward, and Rhodes, P.C. in Glen Falls, New York in 1989. During his twenty-two-year tenure with Barlett et al., Auffredou would become a principal attorney and vice president at the firm. While in private practice, Auffredou specialized in municipal law and also served as counsel for the Lake George Park Commission as well as area school districts, and surrounding towns and villages in the counties of Warren, Washington, and Saratoga.

Then, in 2011, he was named the Warren County attorney and would serve in that capacity until his election to the Supreme Court in 2016.

Auffredou served as the past-president of the Board of Directors for the Tri-County United Way.
