NATURE OF PROCEEDINGS: DEFENDANT TOYOTA MOTOR SALES, U.S.A., INC.'S MOTION TO SEAL SETTLEMENT
AMOUNT; DEFENDANT TOYOTA MOTOR SALES, U.S.A., INC.'S MOTION FOR DETERMINATION OF GOOD FAITH
SETTLEMENT; AND DEFENDANT FCA US LLC'S MOTION FOR DETERMINATION OF GOOD FAITH SETTLEMENT
Hearing Start Time: 8:30 AM
The above entitled cause came on regularly on this date and time with parties and/or counsel appearing as
reflected above.
Tentative announced in open court.
Matter argued by counsel and submitted.
The Court makes the following findings and orders:
I. Defendant Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.'s Motion to Seal Settlement Amount
The Court grants Defendant Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.'s unopposed Motion to Seal Settlement Amount and
finds as follows: 1) there exists an overriding interest that supports sealing the records and which overcomes the
right of the public to access these records, to wit, the parties' contractual agreement to maintain the
confidentiality of the settlement amount; 2) there is a substantial probability the Toyota Defendants and Plaintiffs
will be substantially prejudiced by making the settlement amount public; 3) the proposed sealing order is very
narrowly tailored because the Toyota Defendants are only requesting the Court seal the settlement amount, not
the settlement itself, or Plaintiffs' defect allegations directed at the Toyota Defendants; and, 4) no less restrictive
means exist to achieve the parties' overriding interests..
Defendant will prepare an order consistent with this ruling for the Court's signature and pursuant to California
Rules of Court, rule 3.1312.
II.Defendant Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.'s Motion for Determination of Good Faith Settlement
The Court grants Defendant Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.'s Motion for Determination of Good Faith Settlement.
The Court determines the Toyota Defendants' settlement with Plaintiffs to be in good faith within the meaning of
Code of Civil Procedure sections 877 and 877.6. The Court hereby dismisses all Cross-Complaints against Defendant

Rules of Court, rule 3.1312.
III.Defendant FCA US LLC's Motion for Determination of Good Faith Settlement
The Court grants Defendant FCA US LLC's Motion for Determination of Good Faith Settlement. The Court
determines Defendant's settlement with Plaintiffs to be in good faith within the meaning of Code of Civil
Procedure sections 877 and 877.6. The Court hereby dismisses all Cross-Complaints against Defendant for
equitable comparative contribution, or partial or comparative indemnity, based on comparative negligence or
comparative fault.

Rules of Court, rule 3.1312.
