Deputy AFFECTING COURT OPERATIONS AND CALENDARS WHEREAS THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA issued a statewide order directing all Californians to remain home or at their place of residence, though allowing an exception for Californians who work in a building defined by Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) as critical infrastructure, AND WHEREAS STATE COURTHOUSES fall within the definition in CISA as critical infrastructure as necessary to keep the government functioning, AND UNDER THE AUTHORITY of California Rule of Court, Rule 10,603, and the responsibility of the Presiding Judge to ensure effective management of the court and perform all acts necessary to accomplish the duties stated in the rules of court, AND UNDER THE CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCE of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent statewide and nationwide restrictions, specifically the recommendation by the Center for Disease Control to limit public gatherings of 50 people or more for the next eight weeks, and to maintain social distancing of 6 feet from person to person, combined with a declaration by the Governor of California for persons 65 and older to self-isolate until further notice, balanced with the obligation of the Superior Court to ensure the business of the court is conducted to the extent possible, THIS COURT ISSUES the addendum to the temporary order issued by this court on March 18, 2020 Affecting Court Operations and Access to the Courthouse, and adds thereto as indicated: A, PARTICULAR CALENDAR SETTINGS ARE VACATED: Matters that fall with the following subject areas with dates calendared between March 23, 2020 and April 22, 2020. Those calendar dates are vacated by this order and will be re-set for a date after May 18, 2020. The new date will be recited in the notice from the court. a. Civil b. Small claims ce, UD d. Family e. Probate, excluding LPS f. Traffic calendars and traffic trials, petitions may still be filed g. Juvenile traffic h, DCSS ADDENDUM TO MARCH 18, 2020 ORDER: 127 28 B. EXISTING ORDERS REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL THE NEW DATE 1. For any matter calendared to be heard between March 23, 2020 and April 22, 2020, of which the date was vacated by this court and rescheduled, any existing orders remain in effect and expire on the newly set date unless the order is modified in the interim through an emergency order of the court. 2. For the reasons stated herein above, this court finds good cause to vacate the dates at issue in this order and to continue said matters and extend orders. C. PARTICULAR CALENDARS WILL REMAIN Matters that fall with the following subject areas: a. All criminal calendars b. WI 602 - delinquency c. WI 300 - dependency e. Guardianship f. Emergency Orders affecting custody (not visitation), domestic violence and elder abuse g. Request for orders (RFO) for matters falling within (f) only h. LPS D. COURT OPERATIONS 1. The Clerk’s counter will have reduced hours open to in-person service. The hours of operation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. 2. All child-custody mediation and VIP mediation are suspended until April 22, 2020. 3. In-person SHARP services are available from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Clerk’s counter for the sole purpose of assistance with preparing emergency requests for orders. All other SHARP services will be limited to telephonic and online assistance. E. ALL PRIOR ORDERS All prior orders remain in full force and effect.
