CLERK'S MINUTES A JONES-WILLIAMS (AMENDED 09/24/21 BY AJW): COMMISSIONER ANDREA C. SEXTON BAILIFF E. LARSON Prior to commencement of the hearing in chambers conference occurs with counsel. 10:23 A.M. Matter called. Diane Anderson is present with co-counsel Steven Valentine representing petitioner/mother in case 21-FC-7761 and respondent/mother in case 21-FC-7771, Michelle Hillis, who is present. Charles Frye is present representing respondent/father in case 21-FC-7761 and petitioner/father in case 21-FC-7771, Alex Grundland, who is present. Court notes the parties did attend mediation however no agreement was reached. Court advises parties of in chambers discussions. Court appoints minor’s counsel of Dennis Brimer in both cases and the related paternity case 21-FC-7753. Orders executed. Court will continue the contested hearings for appointment of minor’s counsel. Mr. Frye is heard regarding objection to stripping parental rights and objection to supervised visitation. Court addresses the parties regarding the court has made a CPS referral because of the significant allegations and cites the allegations. Application to Commence Proceedings by Affidavit and Decision by Social Worker executed. Mr. Valentine is heard regarding offer of visitation, CPS visit to mother’s home, and alcohol testing for both parties. Discussion ensues regarding proposed non professional supervisors. No agreement reached. In response to the court’s inquiry, Mr. Frye is heard regarding father’s work schedule. 10:40 A.M. Petitioner/respondent/mother and Respondent/petitioner/father are sworn by the clerk. Petitioner/respondent/mother is heard regarding work schedule. On the court’s own motion it consolidates cases 21-FC-7761 and 21-FC-7771. Case 21-FC-7761 is the lead case. As to visitation – Court keeps in place the visitation at Share Home. Court adds additional professionally supervised visitation of two (2) times per week up to two (2) hours per visit at Nexus Youth and Family Services. Court is looking for an update on the ongoing criminal matter and determination on the ongoing CPS matter involving Alex Jr. No consumption of alcohol while minor is in your care, custody and control. Court is not ordering testing but if parents voluntarily test they may show the results. Petitioner’s counsel is to prepare the Amended DV-110 to include the updated supervised visitation. Petitioner is ordered to cooperate in making supervised visitation occur by timely doing an intake with Nexus and to timely respond to Share Home.
