The Hon. Wayne J. Forrest is a judge for the Essex County Superior Court (Vicinage 5) in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Chris Christie on July 7, 2012.
Prior to his appointment, Forrest was Head Authority of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, a position to which he was appointed in 2010. Governor Christie selected Forrest to post as a way to address the corruption of its leadership.
Before that, Forrest was the County Prosecutor for the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, where he established the Vehicular Homicide Task Force and the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team. He also spent time as a deputy attorney general for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
Forrest earned a J.D. at Seton Hall Law School.
