Hon. T. David Lyles is a judge for the Paulding County Superior Court in Georgia. He was elected to the bench in 2016.
During his judicial tenure, Lyles has presided over the Paulding County Mental Health Court since 2019.
Prior to beginning his judicial career, he was a senior assistant district attorney with the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office, a position he had held since 2006.
Before that, Lyles worked as a prosecutor in both Forsyth (2004 to 2006) and Fulton Counties (1998 to 2004).
He received a B.B.A. in accounting from Mississippi College in 1994. Lyles went on to complete a J.D. at Emory University School of Law in 1998. While a law student, he worked as an intern for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office before joining as an assistant district attorney upon passing the bar.
Lyles has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Emory Law School’s Keppler-Eidson Trial Techniques Program since 2012. In addition, he has taught the Basic Litigation Course for the Prosecuting Attorneys Council since 2013.
Lyles has sat as a member of the Board of Directors of the Paulding County Boys & Girls Club, Paulding County Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Paulding County Public Safety Appreciation Board.
