The Hon. Sean W. Donahue is an associate judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. He was appointed to the bench by the judges of the 10th Judicial Circuit in 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard D. McCoy.
The 10th Judicial Circuit includes Marshall County, Peoria County, Putnam County, Stark County, and Tazewell County.
Prior to his appointment, Donahue was a sole practitioner in his own private practice, a law firm he established in 2011. Before that, he worked as an attorney in private practice alongside Jerry Brady. Donahue supplemented his practice with service as an assistant public defender for the Peoria County Public Defender’s Office.
Donahue earned a J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law. After graduating from law school, he began his legal career as an assistant state’s attorney for the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Donahue was a resident of Peoria, Illinois, at the time of his appointment.
