Hon. Robert B. Gibson, III is a judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Arkansas. He was elected to the bench in 2020, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of his father, the Hon. Robert B. Gibson, Jr. (Ret.).
The 10th Judicial Circuit includes Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, and Drew Counties.
Prior to his election, Gibson was a partner at Streetman & Gibson, PLLC in Crossett.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi. Gibson went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law.
He was admitted to practice in Arkansas (2008), the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Gibson has sat on the Board of Directors for the Ashley County Boys & Girls Club, Crossett Rotary Club, and the Crossett Chamber of Commerce, and he was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Committee for Model Civil Jury Instructions.
He is the third generation to hold a seat on the 10th Judicial Circuit. Besides his father, his grandfather served as a municipal judge for twenty-two years and later became a chancery judge for the 10th Judicial District before a state constitutional amendment changed the position to circuit judge.
Gibson is a native of Dermott and Monticello. He and his wife, Macy, have two sons. The family attends St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Crossett.
