The Hon. Richard F. Walsh (Ret.) served as a judge for the Juvenile Justice Division of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. He was elected to the bench in 1994 and retired in 2015.
Over the course of his judicial career, Walsh held assignments in the Juvenile Justice Division and the First Municipal District (1992 to 1993). He has also served as a hearing officer for the Illinois Racing Board.
Prior to his election, Walsh worked as a sole practitioner in his own private practice as well as a staff attorney for the Federal Defender Program. Before that, he was a law clerk for the United States District Court.
Walsh earned a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He has also received a master’s of judicial studies from the University of Nevada.
