The Hon. Marisol Martinez Alonso is a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in New York County. She was appointed to the bench as an interim judge on the Civil Court in New York County by former Mayor Bill de Blasio in February 2018. Alonso was reappointed in January 2023.
Following her appointment, she was quickly designated to the Criminal Court of the City of New York by former Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks in 2018.
Before joining the bench, Alonso spent the bulk of her legal career with the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. She joined the office as an assistant district attorney in 2001. Over the course of her sixteen-year tenure there, Alonso served in various bureaus, including as deputy chief of the Trial Bureau.
She received a B.A. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1997. Alonso then completed a J.D. at New York Law School in 2001.
