The Hon. Lee D. Moss is a judge for the Lincoln County Probate Court in Georgia. He was elected to the bench in 2000.
Moss began his judicial career as the Chief Magistrate for the Lincoln County Magistrate Court, a position to which he was selected in 1984. Over the course of his tenure, Moss has developed the Lincoln County Probate Court Community Service Program, which helps keep the county’s right-of-ways clean. He has served as Treasurer of the Seventh District Probate Judges as well as a member of the Statewide Probate Judges Council.
As one of the first probate court judges to complete the Georgia Probate Court Judges Certificate Program through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Moss holds the title of Certified Probate Judge by the Georgia Institute of Continuing Judicial Education.
His memberships have included the Lincolnton City Council, the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, and the Son of the American Legion (Post 194). He and his family are also active members of the Lincolnton United Methodist Church.
Moss was born and raised in Lincoln County, where he attended Lincoln High School. He then graduated from the Georgia Fire Academy, serving as Assistant Chief for the Lincolnton Fire Department. Moss has two children and three grandchildren. When not presiding over legal matters, he enjoys hunting and fishing.
He is registered as a Democrat.
