Hon. J. Michael Williamson (Ret.) is a senior judge for the Clinton County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench in 1994 and retained to a second term in 2004. Williamson retired in January 2014.
During his judicial tenure, Williamson was the president judge in Clinton County.
He received a B.A. from Yale University in 1964. Williamson went on to complete an LL.B. at the University of Virginia School of Law in 1967.
Prior to joining the judiciary, his legal career included positions in both the private and public sectors. He worked for a time as a senior partner at Williamson, Coploff, Hanna & Ryan and spent six years as the District Attorney in Clinton County (1973 to 1979).
In addition, Williamson was a solicitor for several boroughs, townships, and municipal authorities including the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority.
He sat on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association for three years (1992 to 1995).
Williamson was born in Lock Haven and is a graduate of The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
